Chinese New Year 2021 was observed on Friday, February 12, 2021. Mostly, the Chinese New Year festival period lasts for 16 days, starting from Chinese New Year’s eve to the Lantern Festival. In 2021, the Chinese New Year festival began on 11 February and will go on till 26 February.

In the city of Kolkata, slowly limping back to normalcy from the pandemic, the Chinese diasporic community, celebrated their New Year. Bijoy Choudhury, a freelance photographer and filmmaker, captured the celebrations in China Town, Territy Bazar and Tangra, through his lens.
